ATM supports high-speed data applications, while achieving the minimum delay and delay-variability required for video and voice applications, all on a single infrastructure. It also supports rapidly changing bandwidth demands resulting in better network facility utilisation. ATM is a fundamental technology for high-speed, multimedia applications in local and wide area environments.
Access to the ATM Network supports large amounts of premium grade high bandwidth data transfer from 2Mbps and a permanent virtual circuit is established across the ATM Network to the customer premises. The aggregate bandwidths of all PVCs through a single ATM Access is limited by the access speed of the ATM Access Tail Service.
WCG supplies either the ATM Access and the PVC, connecting such access to WCG or, where you already have an ATM access, the PVC connecting your existing ATM Access to WCG.
Noting that bandwidth rates are affected by overhead, distance from exchange, line infrastructure quality, and CPE capability, the bandwidth rates for each of the ATM Access (if acquired) and the PVC can be limited at your option to the rates set out in the relevant service schedule.
